This is a movie found on the net which has some seeders on it so we hope they will continue to
seed this to those interested. We are posting it here unchanged for wider distribution so as to shed
more light on the subject and issues raised by seeing this version of events from Iran as contrasted
perhaps with the movie from Israel (Kadosh - Amos Gitai Director) dealing with the same subject.
Leila Hatami is not able to conceive a child for her and her husband in this story which
is being told, yet he refuses to leave her abandon her or shun her in any manner
whatsoever. He declares his love for her even further and says its her he loves
despite the inability to conceive.
Bowing to family pressures, and full of guilt for being so-called "barren"
(a biblical term thrown about historically) she convinces her husband
to take another wife, claiming she'll stay on too to help raise the child
in a caring fashion for everyone's sake.
As it turns out, Leila abandons her home and her husband and despite
his willingness to revoke his new marriage to the new wife (the new
marriage hadn't been conceived yet) Leila is stubborn no doubt,
though seeming well meaning for others she cares about.
In the end, her husband goes on to a new life with his new
wife and they have a baby girl.
Her husband will never have the same happiness he had come
to know with Leila, and she is destroyed though seeming happy
for him at the end.
A sad story, these folks of this culture were kind to me while I grew
up around them in my early years, however it isn't a culture of which
I have ever been more than a close or distant observer.
I do think they show much human caring for each other that is truly
refreshing on this planet and the sad state of affairs elsewhere in
many other places by comparison, which perhaps or no doubt do
not have as much caring showing at present or so it would seem,
by comparison I would say and certainly do think so anyway.
I do wish them all the best
